Four pastry brushes for detailed work and larger surfaces

This four-piece brush set combines one round kitchen brush with three flat brushes of different widths. It provides a suitable brush for small pastries, narrow edges, baking tins and larger surfaces.

The four included brushes

Round kitchen brush: approx. 18 × 1.8 × 1.8 cm. Its compact round shape is suitable for small areas, recesses and targeted application.

0.5-inch flat brush: approx. 18 × 1.5 × 0.5 cm. The narrow head is intended for pastry edges, small biscuits and detailed work.

1-inch flat brush: approx. 20.4 × 2.4 × 0.5 cm. This medium width is suitable for egg wash, butter, oil, icing and marinades.

2-inch flat brush: approx. 22.5 × 4.9 × 0.7 cm. The wide head is useful for greasing larger tins and brushing bread, cakes and broader surfaces.

From small pastries to large baking tins

The different widths allow you to select a brush that suits the task. The narrow brush reaches small areas, while the wide brush covers a larger surface in each stroke.

The set is suitable for applying liquid ingredients such as oil, melted butter, egg wash, milk, thin icing and marinades that are not excessively thick.

For baking, cooking and marinating

Use the brushes to grease baking tins, coat bread and rolls, glaze cakes or apply egg wash to puff pastry.

When marinating meat or vegetables, do not use the brushes directly over a naked flame or on a very hot grill surface. Brush food away from the direct flame area.

Separate different kitchen tasks

Four individual brushes make it easier to keep different applications separate. One can be reserved for sweet icing, another for butter and oil and another exclusively for raw-meat marinades.

A brush that has touched raw meat must be cleaned immediately and must not be used unwashed on ready-to-eat food.

Beech wood handles with natural grain

The handles are made from beech wood. Its pale colour and generally fine grain give the brushes a simple, traditional appearance.

Wood is a natural material, so its colour, fibre pattern and minor surface characteristics may vary slightly from one brush to another.

Different bristle materials

The technical product information lists natural and synthetic bristles, depending on the brush. The bristles take up liquid ingredients and release them onto the surface during brushing.

Inspect the bristles before and after use. Remove any loose bristle from the food and discontinue use if a brush begins to shed an unusual number of fibres.

Tinplate ferrules on the flat brushes

The bristles of the flat brushes are secured to the wooden handles by tinplate ferrules. Do not soak them and ensure that the area between the bristles, ferrule and handle dries completely.

Do not continue using a brush if its ferrule becomes loose, distorted, rusty or otherwise damaged.

Not for ovens or naked flames

The brushes are intended for coating and spreading. Do not place them in an oven, microwave or dishwasher or leave them on a hot hob.

Avoid direct flame contact and do not leave the bristles in very hot liquids or on hot surfaces for an extended period.

Personalised on the wooden handles

Suitable areas of the wooden handles can be personalised with short laser engraving or hot branding on request. Names, initials, short labels and small company logos are particularly suitable.

The bristles, ferrules, connecting areas and sections that are regularly immersed deeply in food remain free from engraving. The available position and scope are checked before personalisation.

For baking classes and promotional use

The set is also suitable for cookery and baking schools, bakeries, kitchen studios, spice retailers, food manufacturers and group baking activities.

Handle engraving can turn it into a kitchen gift or part of a baking set. Engraving, packaging, quantities and delivery times can be coordinated for larger orders.

Clean before first use

Wash all four brushes carefully by hand before first use with warm water and a mild detergent. Rinse until no loose fibres or possible production residue remain.

Do not leave the brushes soaking in water. Prolonged moisture may affect the wood, ferrules and bristle bases.

Wash thoroughly after every use

Remove butter, egg, icing and marinade promptly from the bristles. Gently work mild detergent through the bristle bundle and rinse it out completely.

Pay particular attention to the area next to the ferrule. Food residue and moisture must not remain trapped there.

Allow the brushes to dry completely

Carefully shake excess water from the bristles and allow the brushes to dry fully with sufficient air circulation. Store them only when the bristle bases, ferrules and wooden handles are dry.

Do not dry on a radiator, in direct sunlight or inside a closed container.

Care for the wooden handles only

When required, treat only the clean and completely dry wooden handles sparingly with a care oil recommended by the manufacturer and suitable for food contact.

Do not apply oil to the bristles, metal ferrules or connections between the different materials. Remove excess oil and observe the required drying time.

Check before every use

Inspect the wooden handles, bristles and ferrules for cracks, splinters, severe distortion, corrosion, unpleasant odours and loose components.

Please note: These brushes are kitchen utensils rather than toys. Do not continue using a damaged or insufficiently cleaned brush for food.
