Press fresh citrus juice directly from the fruit

This manual beech wood citrus reamer is a simple kitchen tool for preparing small quantities of fresh juice. Insert the pointed head into a halved lemon or lime and move it using a controlled twisting motion. The juice can run directly into a glass, bowl or measuring jug.

A pointed shape for lemons and limes

The slim reaming head can be guided into a halved citrus fruit. Steady pressure and a twisting movement work the fruit against the inside of its peel and release the juice.

The result will depend on the size, ripeness, temperature and firmness of the fruit, as well as the pressure applied. Larger oranges and grapefruit may require additional work because of the compact head.

For tea, dressings, cocktails and baking

The wooden reamer is particularly useful when only one lemon or lime needs to be prepared. Fresh juice can be added to tea, mineral water, lemonade, salad dressings, marinades, sauces, desserts and baking recipes.

It is also a compact tool for preparing citrus juice for cocktails and alcohol-free drinks at a home bar.

A minimalist design without a juice container

The citrus reamer is made from a single solid piece of wood and contains no hinges or removable parts. It requires little storage space and is ready to use immediately.

No collecting bowl or strainer is included. Seeds and pieces of pulp may therefore fall into the container with the juice. Use a separate kitchen strainer when a clearer result is preferred.

Untreated beech wood

According to the product information, the reamer is made from untreated beech wood. The pale wood has a calm grain and a naturally warm feel.

Wood is a natural material, so colour, grain and minor surface features may vary slightly from one item to another. These differences are part of the product’s natural appearance.

Pointed and rounded alternatives

The pointed design is particularly suitable for controlled movement inside smaller citrus halves. Hofmeister also offers a rounded beech wood version for customers who prefer a wider reaming head.

Personalised for a small kitchen gift

Laser engraving or hot branding can be added to the handle on request. Because the available area is narrow and rounded, initials, short names, small symbols and simplified logos are most suitable.

Use and cleaning

Cut the citrus fruit in half and hold it above a suitable container. Press and twist the reaming head into the flesh using a controlled movement. Do not work towards the free hand or apply excessive force.

Clean promptly after use by hand with warm water, a mild detergent and a soft sponge. Do not soak or place in a dishwasher. Dry thoroughly and allow the wood to air-dry completely.

When required, apply a small amount of care oil suitable for wooden kitchen utensils to the dry wood. Do not continue using the reamer if it develops cracks, splinters or a noticeably rough surface.
