Our manufacturers

We have known our manufacturers in Germany and Europe for many years. These family businesses have been working with wood for many generations and have perfected their manufacturing methods.

All about our manufacturers

Beech wood pizza rolling pin, 45 cm, handle-free – a simple round rod for good dough

Lightly flour the dough and work surface, guide the rolling pin evenly over the dough with both hands and distribute the pressure calmly – for very thin doughs, turn the dough several times and work from the centre outwards. This pizza rolling pin made of solid beech wood is a deliberately simple tool: no metal, no axle, no handles, no additional parts. Just a solid round rod measuring 45.00 × 4.50 × 4.50 cm, guided directly over the dough. This lets you feel pressure, resistance and dough thickness very clearly. The shape is similar to an Italian mattarello: a straight rod without handles that keeps you closer to the dough and helps you control pressure along the full length – especially useful when the dough should be rolled out evenly and thinly.

FOR PIZZA, PASTA AND TARTE FLAMBÉE: At 45.00 cm long, the rolling pin is especially useful for pizza dough, pasta dough, tarte flambée, thin flatbreads, shortcrust pastry, cookie dough, fondant and marzipan. Very long rolling pins are ideal for large pasta sheets but need a lot of space – this 45 cm version is long enough for larger dough pieces and compact enough for a kitchen drawer.

DIRECT CONTROL WITHOUT AN AXLE: Rolling pins with metal axles move easily but give you less direct control. With this round rod, you move the whole tool yourself. It feels more original and suits pizza, pasta and hands-on baking especially well.

BEECH WOOD INSTEAD OF PLASTIC: Beech wood is robust, smooth and long established for kitchen tools. It feels pleasant in the hand and works well with flour, dough, wooden boards, baking trays and worktops. Plastic rollers are light but often look generic – beech wood feels warmer, looks calmer and can stay visible without looking technical or cheap.

HANDCRAFTED AND CUSTOMISABLE: The pizza rolling pin is handcrafted in family-run workshops and packed without plastic. Hofmeister uses wood from Europe and the Mediterranean region and deliberately avoids imports from Asia. Thanks to its clear shape and large usable wooden surface, a logo, branding or engraving turns it into a practical promotional item for restaurants, pizzerias, farm shops, cooking schools or company gifts – and it fits nicely into baking sets and small gift boxes for people who enjoy cooking or baking.

FEWER DIRT TRAPS, EASY CARE: With classic rolling pins, dough residues collect around handles, axles or joints. This pizza rolling pin is a continuous round rod and reduces those areas. After use, remove dough residues dry or with a slightly damp cloth and allow it to dry well. Do not soak, do not put it in the dishwasher and do not store it permanently damp.

Whether at home, in a holiday apartment, at a cooking class or on pizza night: the existing reviews are very positive, with customers praising the quality wood, the perfect size and how well it rolls out dough.
