Odessa: oak end-grain multifunction board for kitchen, grill and table

Anyone who cooks with passion knows: a good board is the foundation of every dish. Odessa is exactly that – and a little more. With a generous 40 x 30 cm work surface and a solid 6.5 cm construction, it gives you a particularly stable, heavy cutting surface that is significantly more massive than most boards on the market, which are often only 2.5 to 4 cm thick. The name Odessa stands for enjoyment and hospitality – fitting for a board that is just as good for cutting as it is for serving. The oak grows in the Carpathians, where harsh winters and short summers ensure particularly slow, dense growth. The result is a fine-pored, heavy hardwood with a tight grain that is harder on the inside than it first appears on the outside. While many competitors simply refer to “European oak”, Odessa names the origin of its oak; the board is made in Europe. With end grain – also called butcher-block wood – the wooden blocks are glued together so that the annual rings face upwards. Oak is naturally rich in tannins, and the solid end-grain construction is a natural, plastic-free choice for your kitchen – robust, sturdy and naturally renewable. Many oak boards only offer a cutting surface with a juice groove; others have grip recesses or non-slip feet, but no integrated collecting solution. Odessa combines solid end grain made from traceable Carpathian oak, a removable stainless steel tray, an all-round juice groove, non-slip silicone feet and comfortable side handles in one board. With its warm oak look, characteristic end-grain pattern and clearly fitted stainless steel tray, it looks high-quality, modern and timeless at the same time, and suits a minimalist kitchen just as well as the laid table or grill station. Whether juicy steak, roast, root vegetables, cheese, bread or antipasti: Odessa is versatile – perfect for ambitious home cooks, grill fans, hosts and anyone looking for a sturdy board made from real wood.

END-GRAIN MOSAIC LOOK: The visible annual rings create a striking mosaic look – every board is unique.

GENTLE ON KNIVES AND “SELF-HEALING”: The blade glides between the upright wood fibres instead of cutting through them. This protects your knife blade, and the surface closes almost by itself after use – for a cutting surface that stays beautiful for a long time.

STAINLESS STEEL TRAY AND JUICE GROOVE: Sliced vegetables, herbs, pieces of meat or kitchen scraps can be pushed straight into the removable stainless steel tray – keeping your work surface clear and helping you work faster and stay organised, whether during meal prep, cooking for guests or at the grill. The all-round juice groove catches anything that would otherwise run onto the worktop: meat juices when carving, juice from tomatoes, fruit or juicy grilled food. Turned over, the tray doubles as a serving dish – cutting, collecting and serving in one board.

STEADY STAND, EASY CARRYING: So that nothing slips while cutting, Odessa stands on non-slip silicone feet – even during powerful chopping or carving the board stays in place. The feet raise it slightly above the work surface, allowing air to circulate so the board can dry properly. The integrated side handles make lifting and carrying easy – even when loaded with food.

CARE: Wood loves care, but not the dishwasher or a permanent water bath. After use, simply wipe Odessa clean with warm water and a mild dish soap and let it dry upright. Rub it occasionally with a little food-safe wood care oil or linseed oil – this keeps the wood supple and water-repellent, and the mosaic grain comes to life again and again.

From preparing starters to carving the Sunday roast in front of your guests: Odessa turns a cutting board into a compact workstation for kitchen, grill and table – a board made to be seen, used and appreciated.
