Our manufacturers

We have known our manufacturers in Germany and Europe for many years. These family businesses have been working with wood for many generations and have perfected their manufacturing methods.

All about our manufacturers

Natural storage for the kitchen and dining table

This olive wood storage jar keeps frequently used ingredients close at hand while adding a warm, natural detail to a breakfast table, kitchen worktop or open shelf. The distinctive grain gives every piece an individual appearance, while the small wooden knob makes the lid easy to lift.

Material: olive wood
External dimensions: approx. 10.5 × 10.5 × 8.8 cm
Weight: approx. 260 g
Contents: one container with a removable wooden lid
Use: for dry food and small everyday items
Packaging: plastic-free

For sugar, salt, spices and tea

The olive wood jar is suitable for dry ingredients that need to remain easily accessible in the kitchen or dining area. Use it for sugar, salt, spices, herbal tea, nuts or dried fruit. A small measuring spoon can be added for convenient serving.

Outside the kitchen, the jar can hold jewellery, keys, paper clips or other small essentials. Its compact shape also fits neatly on a desk, bedside table or hallway shelf.

A simple wooden lid for everyday use

The removable lid covers the contents and can be lifted by the small wooden knob. No airtight or moisture-proof sealing function is specified for this product. It should therefore not be treated as an airtight storage canister and is not suitable for liquids or for transporting liquid contents.

Individual grain rather than a uniform appearance

Olive wood is known for its warm tones and lively, often contrasting grain. The colour, lines and pattern will vary from one jar to another. The lid and base may also display different natural grain patterns. These variations are characteristic of real wood and give every item its own appearance.

A natural material from the Mediterranean region

Hofmeister sources its wood from Europe and the Mediterranean region and does not use imports from Asia or rainforest regions for this range. The jar is made in family-run workshops and supplied in plastic-free packaging.

Personalised for a thoughtful gift

Laser engraving or hot branding can be added on request. Short names, initials, a date or labels such as “Salt”, “Sugar”, “Tea” or “Little Treats” are particularly suitable for the lid.

This turns the jar into a personal gift for a housewarming, birthday, wedding or Christmas. It can also be combined with spices, tea, sweets or a small measuring spoon to create an individual food or kitchen gift.

Promotional item for food and hospitality businesses

With a simplified company logo, the jar can also be used as a premium promotional item for spice brands, farm shops, delicatessens, hotels, restaurants and food producers. The position, size and feasibility of each design are checked before larger production runs.

Cleaning and care

Clean the jar thoroughly before first use in accordance with the supplied care and safety instructions. Afterwards, wash it by hand using warm water, a mild detergent and a soft cloth or sponge. Do not soak or place it in a dishwasher.

Dry both the jar and lid thoroughly after cleaning and allow them to air-dry completely. When required, apply a small amount of food-safe vegetable oil to the dry wood. Keep the product away from open flames, ovens, microwaves and sudden temperature changes.

Please note: This jar is a household item and not a toy. Do not continue using it for food if the wood develops significant cracks, splinters or other damage.
