Laser engraving offers you countless creative design options.
What is laser engraving particularly suitable for?
Laser engraving is ideal for particularly intricate logos and lettering. Even for small orders of just one item, we can carry out your order cost-effectively with our own in-house laser. This results in highly detailed and high-resolution engravings that you will enjoy for a long time – perfect for special gifts with a personal touch!
How does laser engraving work?
In laser engraving, the wood is targeted with a laser beam to achieve clean, dark brown images and engravings.
Branding
We offer two types of branding. One is handwritten branding and the other is machine branding with a hot stamp.
Handwritten branding
The special feature of this printing process is the individuality that you can express with it. Would you like to have a personal gift designed that, thanks to the handwriting of one of our employees, becomes a very personal and extraordinary highlight with a personal touch? Then our handwritten branding is perfect for you. Individual names and sayings can be branded onto many of our wooden items. Handwritten branding is suitable for single or small batches.
We use a branding iron to burn your desired text by hand. The “Brennpeter” is a universally applicable burning station with electronic control. The connected burning pen is heated to temperatures between 350 and 750°C, creating a unique, dark brown finish when burning text.
Machine burning
We recommend machine branding with a hot stamp for large print runs and items with flat surfaces. Machine branding produces a consistently beautiful dark brown color with uniform depth. This creates a beautiful contrast, especially on lighter types of wood.
In this printing process, the motif is first milled onto a metal embossing plate. The plate is then heated to a high temperature and pressed onto the wooden item. The heat burns the wood and the motif appears as a beautiful, dark burn. The branding emphasizes the special naturalness of your motif.
Pad printing
Unlike screen printing, pad printing or color printing is particularly suitable for uneven surfaces. This method also offers the option of printing the desired design in color. This printing process is often used for personalizing promotional items and is suitable for larger print runs.
In color printing, the printing ink is transferred from the printing form, known as the cliché, by means of an elastic pad (which is why color printing is also referred to as “pad printing”) made of silicone rubber. The cliché is a template on which the logo, name, etc. to be printed is represented in negative form as a kind of stamp template. The stamp template does not point upwards as usual, but downwards. This means that the applied ink always collects in the same quantity in the recess. The pad is then pressed into the stamp template to pick up the ink from the stamp template. The ink is transferred from the pad to the material by applying varying degrees of pressure. Logos can thus be printed in different colors, for example.
This printing method is not suitable for items that come into contact with food. The ink may rub off during everyday use (washing up or cutting on boards).
