This manual beechwood citrus reamer is a compact kitchen tool for preparing small quantities of fresh juice. Insert the rounded head into a halved fruit and guide it using a controlled twisting movement. The juice can run directly into a glass, bowl or measuring jug.

A rounded 4.5 cm reaming head

At approximately 4.5 cm wide, the rounded head provides a larger contact area inside the fruit than Hofmeister’s narrower pointed version. This makes the round design particularly suitable for medium-sized lemons and smaller oranges.

The fit will depend on the size and shape of each fruit. The pointed version may be more convenient for very small limes and narrow lemons.

Press and twist without a complicated mechanism

Cut the citrus fruit in half and hold it above a suitable container. Guide the reaming head into the flesh and move it with steady pressure and a twisting motion.

The amount of juice released will depend on the variety, ripeness, temperature and firmness of the fruit, as well as the pressure applied. A complete or identical yield cannot be guaranteed for every fruit.

For tea, dressings, drinks and baking

The wooden reamer is particularly useful when only one or two citrus halves need to be prepared. Fresh lemon or orange juice can be added to tea, mineral water, lemonade, salad dressings, marinades, sauces, desserts and baking recipes.

When required, apply a small amount of food-safe care oil suitable for wooden kitchen utensils to the dry wood. Remove any excess and allow the reamer to dry completely before its next use.
