Shape butter with a cow relief and decorative edge

This round maple wood butter mould turns a simple portion of butter into a distinctive feature for breakfasts, brunches and special tables. The inside shows a cow with small grass details, while the scalloped inner edge gives the finished butter a decorative outline.

For approximately 250 g of butter

The round mould is designed for around 250 g of butter. The exact quantity may vary slightly depending on how firmly the butter is packed, whether air pockets remain and how far it extends above the opening.

The wooden mould does not produce butter from cream. It is intended for portioning, shaping and decorating butter that has already been purchased or prepared separately.

How to use the butter mould

Rinse the mould before use in accordance with the supplied care instructions. Cool the inside thoroughly under very cold water for one to two minutes. This keeps the wood cool and helps the finished butter release more easily.

Fill the round cavity with butter that is soft enough to spread but still able to retain its shape. Press it carefully into the cow motif and around the scalloped edge. Try to avoid trapping large air pockets. The butter may extend slightly above the opening.

Place the filled mould in the refrigerator for approximately three to four minutes. Position a plate or suitable serving board over the opening, turn both together and slowly lift the wooden mould straight away.

A cow design with small grass details

The motif shows a stylised cow with horns, a textured coat and small tufts of grass. The soft butter is pressed into the recessed areas and the design appears raised after the portion is turned out.

The clarity of the details will depend on the butter temperature, even filling, trapped air, chilling time and careful release. Minor variations are normal when each portion is shaped by hand.

A scalloped edge for a traditional appearance

In addition to the cow motif, the shaped inner wall creates a decorative outline around the side of the butter portion. The result is a round block with a gently waved edge.

This allows the mould to both portion and decorate butter for breakfasts, buffets and traditionally arranged tables.

Use butter with the right consistency

The butter should be workable while remaining firm enough to retain its shape. Very hard refrigerated butter will be difficult to press into the smaller details. Butter that is too soft may stick to the wood or lose its outline after release.

Firm herb or seasoned butter may also be used when its ingredients are finely distributed and do not obstruct the cow relief.

For breakfasts, brunches and buffets

The shaped butter portion is suitable for family breakfasts, Sunday brunches, buffets, traditional meals and special occasions. At approximately 250 g, it provides a larger serving for several people.

Present the butter on a chilled plate or suitable serving board. In warm rooms, remove it from the refrigerator shortly before serving.

Suitable for farm shops, dairies and rural cafés

The cow motif is particularly suitable for dairies, cheese makers, dairy farms, farm shops, rural cafés, country hotels and holiday accommodation.

Pale maple wood with natural grain

Maple wood has a pale colour and generally fine, understated grain. This allows the cow motif and scalloped edge to remain clearly visible.

Wood is a natural material, so its colour, grain and minor surface characteristics may vary slightly from one item to another. These differences form part of the mould’s natural character.

A round mould with an integrated lower grip

The butter mould consists of one compact wooden body. An integrated knob or foot on the underside provides a grip when carefully lifting the mould away from the turned-out butter.

A separate lid, plunger or ejector is not included with this version. Avoid striking the mould against crockery or a work surface.

Personalised on the exterior

A suitable smooth exterior surface can be personalised with laser engraving or hot branding on request. Short names, initials, dates, farm names and simplified logos are particularly suitable.

The inside, cow relief and all direct food-contact areas remain free from engraving. The position and design size are checked before personalisation.

With exterior engraving, the mould can be used as a gift for dairies, cheese makers, farm shops, agricultural businesses, country hotels, tourism organisations and regional food brands.

Cleaning and drying

Follow the product-specific care instructions supplied with the item. Remove butter residue promptly after use and carefully clean the cow motif and scalloped inner edge by hand.

Do not soak or place in a dishwasher. Remove excess water and allow the mould to air-dry completely with the opening facing downwards or resting on its side.

Do not dry on a radiator, in direct sunlight or in a permanently damp environment. Do not freeze the wooden mould or place it in an oven or microwave.

Check before every use

Inspect the mould for cracks, splinters, heavily roughened areas and residue inside the detailed design. Do not continue using a damaged or insufficiently cleaned mould for food.
