Two-piece maple wood butter mould – rooster, rabbit or lamb as a butter figure

These two-piece maple wood butter moulds shape butter into a three-dimensional animal for breakfasts, brunches and special tables. Choose between a rooster, rabbit and lamb: each version consists of two separate, matching wooden halves that together form both sides of the design. Unlike many conventional one-piece wooden butter moulds, which create a relief on only one surface, these produce a three-dimensional figure with visible details on its front and back once the mould is opened. The compact rooster measures approximately 12 × 10.8 × 4.5 cm when assembled, the seated rabbit with long ears also approximately 12 × 10.8 × 4.5 cm, and at approximately 14 × 8.5 × 4.5 cm the lamb is the longest version; dimensions and weight vary according to the selected design. Depending on the design and filling method, you will need approximately 100–125 g of butter, as ears, legs, combs, tails and fleece details have different volumes. The mould does not produce butter from cream; it shapes and decorates butter that has already been purchased or prepared separately, and it is packed without plastic. How to use it: rinse both halves before use in accordance with the product-specific care instructions, briefly cool the inner surfaces with very cold water and remove excess water. Press butter that is soft enough to spread but still holds its shape into both halves in small portions, filling the smaller and deeper details completely and avoiding larger air pockets. Fill both halves slightly above the edge, align the locating points and join the sections without excessive pressure. Chill the closed mould in the refrigerator until the butter is sufficiently firm, then slowly separate the halves in a straight movement, carefully release the figure and present it on a chilled plate or serving board.

THREE ANIMAL DESIGNS FOR EVERY SEASON: The rooster suits breakfasts, farms, poultry businesses and rural table settings, the rabbit is a natural choice for Easter, spring brunches and seasonal gifts, and the lamb suits Easter, spring, christenings, first communions, sheep farms and rural buffets. Choose the figure to match the season and occasion – for family breakfasts, Sunday brunches, buffets or festive tables.

THE RIGHT BUTTER CONSISTENCY: The butter should be soft enough to reach the smaller recessed areas and firm enough for the figure to keep its shape when the mould is opened. Very hard refrigerated butter is difficult to press into detailed contours, while butter that is too soft may stick to the wood. The clarity of details depends on consistency, even filling and careful opening; as every figure is filled by hand, contours vary slightly and an identical level of detail cannot be guaranteed.

TWO MATCHING MAPLE WOOD HALVES: Pale maple wood with generally fine, understated grain keeps the animal contours clearly visible; as a natural material, colour, grain and minor surface characteristics vary from piece to piece. The parts are aligned using the contact areas and locating points – join them without excessive force and avoid leaving butter between the outer joining surfaces. If the chilled mould does not open immediately, do not prise it apart with a knife, screwdriver or other hard object, do not twist the halves against each other and do not strike them against a work surface.

EXTERIOR ENGRAVING FOR GIFTS AND BUSINESSES: Suitable smooth exterior areas can be personalised with laser engraving or hot branding on request, for example with short names, initials, dates, farm names or simplified company logos; the shaped surfaces, locating points, filling areas and all food-contact surfaces remain free, and the position and design size are checked beforehand. The moulds suit farm shops, poultry farms, sheep farms, rural cafés, guest houses, country hotels and regional hospitality – the rooster for breakfast themes, the rabbit for Easter promotions, the lamb for spring, sheep farming and family celebrations – and make a gift for dairies, tourism organisations and regional food brands. For larger orders, design, engraving, quantity, packaging and delivery time are coordinated individually.

CLEANING AND CARE: Separate both halves completely after use and promptly remove butter residue from the contours and joining surfaces, following the product-specific care instructions. Hand wash only; do not soak, do not place in a dishwasher, do not use in an oven or microwave and do not store permanently in a freezer. Dry both parts separately and let them air-dry completely with the inner surfaces exposed – not on a radiator, in direct sunlight or in a permanently damp place – before reassembling or storing the mould closed. Check both halves before every use for cracks, splinters, warping, rough areas, damaged locating points and food residue, and do not continue using a damaged or insufficiently cleaned mould for food. Please note: this butter mould is a kitchen utensil and not a toy.

In warm rooms, take your butter figure out of the fridge shortly before serving – and your rooster, rabbit or lamb will stand in full shape on the breakfast table.
